Dear Families and Friends,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to The Episcopal School. For over sixty years, Episcopal has provided an exceptional developmentally appropriate nursery school experience for children. Our mission is to provide a traditional early childhood program in a warm and welcoming environment, and to offer each child a strong foundation for ongoing education and for life.
At Episcopal, we place equal importance on the social, emotional, intellectual and physical development of every child. We intentionally design our program to be exciting for young learners, and to meet the needs of our students. During the day, our teachers engage in direct instruction and provide opportunities for the children to learn through open-ended free play experiences. Activities are carefully planned for each child’s age and stage of development, and our classrooms are organized in a thoughtful way to promote exploration and inquiry. The school days are filled with excitement and discovery as the children play and learn alongside their friends.

Community is valued at Episcopal. It is important for children and families to feel a sense of belonging and our program aims to promote inclusivity for all. Our many community events and volunteer opportunities offer families time to participate and to be involved.
We know that children learn best in an engaging and joyful environment, and our caring teachers create this in every classroom. By the end of each child’s time at Episcopal, it is our hope that they will have developed a love of learning, excitement for school, and confidence for what lies ahead.
